Active Image The award-winning babyballet Song and Dance Academy opened its doors to it's first class in 2005 and has since welcomed thousands of pre-school babies and children to 'join in the fun' allowing them to experience this wonderful movement to music concept.

The babyballet Song and Dance Academy was created so that pre-school children could involve themselves in the joys and benefits of dance, song and movement. It aids a child’s development, educates them and enables them to have fun at the same time, whilst promoting good manners, behaviour, discipline and self respect.

babyballet is a carefully designed and developed music to movement program which is enjoyed by thousands of pre-school children. It’s success is thanks to the commitment and efforts of its founder and all the staff and teachers who do everything they can to encourage each child to express themselves with confidence and self-belief within a safe and caring environment. babyballet has high standards in order to maintain its fantastic reputation.

After extensive research on young children’s development and learning abilities, the programme has been designed to develop important gross motor skills such as balance, co-ordination and agility. The friendly and non-competitive classes introduce babies, toddlers and pre-school children to planned and supervised physical activity.

babyballet is now enjoyed by thousands of children every week in many different venues. In addition to the classe which are held in local venues, babyballet is also enjoyed in private day nurseries, play centres, play groups and schools as the programme is an excellent resource for Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.

Boys and Girls!
babyballet classes are suitable for boys as well as girls. Founder Claire O'Connor is on an ongoing mission to break down the barriers of the stigma attached to boys and dancing. Claire is delighted that she is educating the male influences in boys lives to understand that dance is an excellent way to increase coordination, balance and agility, which can enhance their performance in other sports such as football and rugby. Boys love the classes and have just as much fun as the girls! If you are worried about how suitable the classes are for boys, try a 3 week introductory course.

Every Child is Important

babyballet firmly believes that every child, irrespective of creed, colour, gender or ability, should be encouraged to enjoy their formative years and the babyballet program enables them to do just that. Each and every class is designed to stimulate the children’s senses allowing them to do what they love the most.....having fun! Don't worry if you have a very shy child, the babyballet teachers will ensure they are encouraged to join in at their own pace and it won't be long before they are taking part and benefitting from the classes.

Principles

The beauty of babyballet is that whilst all the staff endeavour to provide a wonderful environment and exciting program for the children to enjoy, they also promote basic principles which will serve the children well into their school years and indeed into later life, such as good manners, behaviour, discipline and self respect.

babyballet classes are designed to instil confidence in children as they grow and develop. The syllabus has been developed with the child in mind. The classes enhance the child’s natural development giving an advantage over children who have not been actively involved in such an activity. The methods and syllabus provide a fantastic mix of education and enjoyment.

Quality Time for Child and Parent or Guardian

The babyballet formula enables the child and parent or guardian to share quality time together. babyballet encourages the accompanying adult to get involved whenever possible as this ultimately results in the child joining in more readily. A child’s confidence grows much more rapidly if they can see their parent or guardian getting involved too. And what’s more, it creates a wonderfully relaxed environment and a very happy class!
